“Neither,” Alex replied calmly, shaking his head. He couldn’t admit he’d been thinking about Josephine.
“Oh? Someone new caught your eye?” Sophia pressed, curiosity evident. “Absolutely not!” Alex laughed lightly, feeling conflicted inside.
That night with a drunken Sophia had led to chaos with Gilbert. Everything felt complicated.
