“Oh.”
Charlotte arched her eyebrow. “Got it.”
Andrew blinked, completely lost. What did Charlotte think she understood?
Olivia was just coming down the stairs, her backpack hanging from one shoulder, when she spotted Charlotte and her group laughing, making their way toward the
school gate.
Word was, today was Shirley’s birthday. Andrew and Charlotte were planning a party for her at the most popular karaoke spot in Cabinda.
Sure, Andrew and Parrish came from rich families, but their parents were strict. They’d never get away with blowing money just for fun. There was no way they’d pick up such a huge tab.
Charlotte was even worse off. She was so strapped for cash she’d started picking up voice acting gigs. How could she afford a night at a place like that?
But then again, she’d already cozied up to Kenneth. If she didn’t have money, Kenneth did.
At school, she flirted with Andrew. Outside, she was working her charm on Kenneth.
A hint of jealousy crept onto Olivia’s lips. She quickly snapped a photo of Andrew carrying Charlotte’s backpack and handing her a water bottle, then quietly trailed after them.
At the karaoke bar, Charlotte had just stepped out of the car when her phone rang. She waited by the entrance, leaning back against the wall, hands shoved into her pockets, looking like she was expecting someone.
Not long after, a man in a black coat walked right up to her.
Olivia was too far away to hear what they said, but she watched as the man reached out and brushed Charlotte’s hair like he’d done it a hundred times before.
So, besides Andrew and Kenneth, there was someone else?
Was Charlotte really juggling three guys at once?
Olivia’s smile turned cold. She pulled out her phone again, snapping a photo of the two of them looking way too close.
No matter who she sent it to-Andrew or Kenneth-this picture would be a disaster for Charlotte. What a fake. All sweet and innocent on the outside, but underneath…
And then there was Emily.
No one would be okay with their own brother and their crush both getting tangled up with the same girl.
There was no way Emily would just ignore these photos.
Meanwhile, on set, Emily’s assistant rushed over with a pale face and handed her a phone.
“Emily, you need to see this.”
Emily was sprawled out in her chair, going over her lines, but the moment she saw the screen, she shot upright.
There were two pictures.
One was Andrew and Charlotte standing close together.
The other was Charlotte outside the karaoke bar, talking to some man who was gently touching her hair. Both photos had the same kind of intimate vibe.
Emily felt her head start to pound. She sat there for a few seconds, trying to make sense of it all.
Was this girl seriously dating four
guys at the same time? Anthonyet
Andrew Kenneth and now some mystery man? Not even the wildest drama would dare to go this far.
After a moment, Emily called Kenneth. She got right to the point. “Come to the karaoke bar in Southside. I need to talk to you. Be there in half an hour.”
She hung up, took a steadying breath, and called Anthony.
“Hello.”
His voice on the other end was cold, totally emotionless. Emily frowned.
“Anthony.. She hesitated, squeezing the phone a little tighter. “I… I saw your girlfriend at the karaoke bar. She was getting pretty close with another guy.”
How was she supposed to tell him his girlfriend might be cheating?
With another guy? Getting close?
On the other end, Anthony’s
expression went hard and icy. He got up leaving an entire room of executives in the middle of a meeting, and walked out, his face dark and unreadable.
