Chapter 462
The room looked gorgeous, with soft light and a gentle scent floating in the air that made everything feel calm and inviting.
Emily had her arm looped through Charlotte’s, talking a mile a minute, totally missing the stormy look on Anthony’s face behind them.
“Charlotte, why didn’t you wear the dress I picked out for you?”
Charlotte frowned a little. “Next time.”
Next time?
Anthony caught that and his dark eyes narrowed, a crooked smile tugging at his lips. Was she just trying to annoy him? She really had a temper. Still, her jealous side was actually kind of cute.
“It’s so loud out there, Charlotte. I don’t want to go back,” Emily said, still clinging to her even after they got inside. “Wow, your grandma really went all out with this bed. It’s huge.”
“Charlotte, let me stay with you tonight.”
Anthony’s face got even darker, his icy eyes landing right on Charlotte. She looked up at him, meeting his stare.
Nobody said a word. The air grew tense, like everyone was waiting for someone else to make a move. Anthony’s look was all warning, practically daring her to say yes.
Was he threatening her?
“Sure,” Charlotte said, lifting her brow with a little smirk. She pulled back the covers and patted the pillow. “Emily, you can sleep over here.”
“Really?” Emily’s eyes lit up. She dropped her jacket and made a grab for the bed.
But before she could get anywhere, a hand clamped down on the back of her shirt and yanked her away without even trying. The next second, her jacket landed on her head, blocking her view.
“Anthony”
“Don’t talk.”
Anthony dragged Emily out of the room, her legs scrambling to keep up while her mind spun. By the time she realized what was happening. she was already outside, the door swinging shut behind her. Anthony looked down at her voice low and cold. “Stop buying Charlotte those ridiculous clothes.”
Ridiculous? It was just a slip dress.
“I—” Emily started, but her words got cut off by the sharp click of the door. Seriously? Anthony was way too jealous for his own good.
Emily pouted, brushing off her jacket and deciding to find somewhere else to hang out. She barely took two è steps before running straight into Kenneth, who definitely looked like

“Whoa, you okay?” Kenneth asked, surprised. He took her chin in his hand and looked her over, smiling lazily. “You’re already a little clumsy, and now you’re bumping into people? That’s not helping.”
“Go away,” Emily muttered, blinking back tears of frustration.
“Aww, don’t be sad.” Kenneth pinched her cheek and then gave her face a gentle rub. He glanced at the closed door, frowning a little. “Looks like the show’s over Come on, as your big brother, I’ll take you to get a

“Alright.” Kenneth just grinned wider, slinging an arm around her shoulder. “I heard there are a lot of cute guys here tonight. Want to go check them out?”
