Chapter 574
Just a moment ago, Samantha had actually thought Anthony might be into Lottie. But the more she considered it, the more it felt like she was overthinking things. Anthony was great in every way except for being a little older. She wondered who his girlfriend was.
While she was lost in thought, she glanced over and saw the servants helping Robert upstairs.
Kenneth walked up to Anthony, leaning in close and lowering his voice. “You alright?”
“I’m fine,” Anthony answered, the corner of his mouth lifting in a sly smile. His gaze drifted past Kenneth to linger on Lottie, a little too mischievous.
But from where Samantha stood, it looked like Anthony was smiling at Kenneth. The way they stood so close, the way Anthony smiled, the weird tension in the air… It all added up. People said Anthony never had any women around. The only person he seemed close to was Kenneth. He was nearly thirty, single, and yet he was always with her son. And today, he’d showed up with a mountain of gifts.
It was just odd.
A headache throbbed at Samantha’s temples. She grabbed a glass of ice water and gulped it down, but the anxiety wouldn’t go away. She felt a little lost.
Kenneth gave a cold little smile. “Let me walk you out.”
Anthony nodded politely, then turned to Kevin and Samantha. “Samantha, your cooking is amazing. I hope I’ll get to come by and taste it again sometime.”
Again… and again… The words echoed in her mind.
Samantha felt even more uneasy. Was there actually something going on between Anthony and Kenneth?
“Of course. Come by anytime,” she managed, her smile a little forced as she watched Kenneth and Anthony leave, shoulder to shoulder.
“Aunt Samantha, I’m heading out too,” Charlotte said, turning to go. Before she could leave, Samantha reached out and stopped her.
“Lottie ”
“Yeah?” Charlotte paused, looking back at her aunt with confusion. “What’s up?”
Samantha pressed her lips together, her expression shifting with worry. She dropped her voice. “There’s nothing weird going on with Anthony and Kenneth, right?”
Charlotte froze for a moment, glancing at the two men’s retreating backs. Then she caught on and laughed. “No, it’s all normal.”
At least, she was pretty sure Anthony was normal.
Samantha breathed a sigh of relief “Kenneth spends every free minute over at The Blair family’s place just Started

it’s all normal, that’s good.
Now it was Charlotte’s turn to feel weird. Kenneth really did run off to see Anthony whenever he could. Anyone would start to question it.
In the car, Anthony leaned back and closed his eyes.
“Hurry up,” Kenneth said, holding the door for Charlotte. Once she got in, he let out a deep breath. Those three hours at dinner had been torture, his
nerves shot, worried someone would pick up on what was really happening.
“Kenneth,” Charlotte said, settling into her seat. Her gaze was lazy, her tone teasing.
“Aunt Samantha just asked if you and Anthony were a thing.”
Kenneth’s face went pale. “What?”
Anthony, who’d looked half-asleep,
slowly opened his eyes and stared at Charlotte His gaze was dark, sharp.
Did she really not know who he was interested in? Hadn’t she cried enough last time?
Under Anthony’s intense stare, Charlotte started to feel flustered. She shrugged. “It
was just a question. If it’s not true, then it’s not true.”
The car started moving. Inside, everything went silent.
Anthony kept looking at Charlotte, his gaze so deep it was almost scary.
Charlotte swallowed. She had a feeling she’d just made a huge mistake.
