He found out from Helen as soon as he walked in the door. He didn’t even bother to change out of his clothes before running straight upstairs.
Charlotte blinked awake, lips pressed tight. There was no hiding her irritation, sleepy eyes clouded with obvious annoyance. She was definitely not a morning person.
Anthony reached out and brushed the back of his hand gently against her cheek, pulling her into his arms. His voice was low and rough. “Helen said you haven’t eaten yet. Come on, get up and have something before you go back to sleep.”
Charlotte breathed in his clean, familiar scent and couldn’t help but burrow deeper against his chest, tilting her face up to meet his gaze.
It had been four months since their first night together. With Charlotte staying in the dorms most days, they hadn’t seen each other for a while. It made these moments feel even more intense.
The space between them disappeared fast.
“Lottie, food first Anthony tried to keep his cool, holding her by the shoulders. His nose brushed against her collarbone and his eyes darkened, breath a little uneven.
Charlotte only clung tighter.
“You want more?” Anthony lifted his head and looked her right in the eye, searching for her answer.
Maybe she hadn’t made herself clear enough. Charlotte frowned slightly, pressing her hands to his shoulders. Her face was pale and pretty, now flushed with a soft pink.
She hugged him, melting against him like a lazy cat.
Anthony swallowed, his breath turning heavy, completely giving in to her mood.
Just as things started to heat up, Charlotte suddenly caught his hand and stopped him, a small crease forming between her brows.
“What’s wrong?” Anthony took a slow breath, lifting his chin to watch her, his voice even rougher than before.
Why stop now?
“Something came up,” Charlotte
said, cheeks bright red. She slid off him, opened a drawer, grabbed something white and headed straight for the bathroom.
Anthony saw exactly what she took.

He let his head fall back against the headboard, letting out a soft, helpless laugh
that lingered for a moment before fading away.
A minute later, Charlotte came out of the bathroom looking like nothing had
happened. She flashed him a quick smile. “Surprise.”
Anthony rested his chin on her shoulder, half-frustrated, half-amused. His voice
came out husky. “Was that on purpose?”
Charlotte just smiled without saying a word.
Anthony couldn’t help but smile back. He kissed her on the cheek and let out a sigh. “Go eat dinner. I’ll take a quick shower.”
Another cold shower.
Charlotte noticed the tension in his face. She bit her lip, playing with one of his shirt buttons. Her voice came autsoft almost shy it’s realy, that bad, I could help you

Anthony stared at her, his deep eyes narrowing a bit, unreadable.

An hour later, Charlotte was lying on her stomach, eyes half-closed, looking completely wiped out.
