Jackson’s grip tightened on the steering wheel. He glanced over, uneasy, as
Charlotte sat beside him. The air around her felt sharp and cold, making his skin prickle.

Charlotte’s eyes were lowered, her face icy and unreadable. Aside from that, she didn’t seem to be feeling much.
That was it? No extra instructions?
Was she really not going to warn the Falcon Unit to show some restraint?

Jackson and Adonis exchanged a look. The pressure in the car was way too much. Both of them clamped their mouths shut, not daring to say more.

They’d caught God. Nine could finally get her revenge. She should be happy.
“Maybe she’s just so happy she can’t show it.”
“I think you’re onto something.”
The patriarch nodded.
“Since Nine’s on her way, spread the word. Falcon Unit is not to touch God,” he
said, his mood lighter than ever. “Let Nine handle him herself.”
A gift like this—it only made sense for the birthday girl to open it herself.

When the call from HQ came in,
Falcon Unit had already pulled out all
